A name or place entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside provider operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. We do not retain or record those search terms on our systems.

When you email us, the message is kept as needed to respond. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
Our servers automatically receive basic technical information whenever a page loads:

- Any referring website
- Date and time of each request

No Criminal-Record Data on File
We do not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. The content identifies where Vermilion County records can be requested, including the Sheriff's Office, Circuit Clerk, Illinois State Police Bureau of Identification, and Illinois State Police Sex Offender Registry. We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and visitor data is never compiled into a consumer report or third-party criminal record.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies operate the search boxes. Information submitted there is governed by that partner's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider determines its retention and disclosure practices, which we do not control. Review those terms before running a query.

Links may lead to the Vermilion County Sheriff's Office, court portals, Illinois agencies, legal-aid resources, or outside search services. Once you follow a link, the destination's privacy policy controls. Read it before providing personal information.
Some advertising providers may use their own systems to track activity across websites and select targeted advertising.

The website is intended for adults, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. If we learn that a minor supplied such data, we will remove it promptly.

Rights may vary by residence and applicable law. Illinois protections include the Consumer Fraud and Deceptive Business Practices Act, 815 ILCS 505. Illinois FOIA, 5 ILCS 140, governs access to nonexempt government records, while UCIA, 20 ILCS 2635, governs public Illinois conviction information. Those public-record laws do not turn this private website into a government custodian. At a minimum, you may:
